On the 31 Mar 2018, Spr Jones and Moorhouse of 26 Engineer Regiment will be rowing the Devizes to Westminister International Canoe Race (124 miles) in under 24 hrs representing the Royal Engineers.
To add to this massive physical challenge WO1 (RSM) Leighton Bull will be running the same route in aid of Veterans In Action .
Billy MacLeod Chief Operations Officer of VIA said, “I was lucky enough in December 2017 to be invited by 26 Engineer Regiment to attend their annual Sports Personality Awards at their Perham Down camp where two Sappers told their story about taking part on the Devizes to Westminster having had no experience in canoeing before entering the race and how they completed the race which is one of the roughest races around. I would also like to express our thanks to WO1 (RSM) Leighton Bull for his continued support of VIA and for the huge challenge that he is taking on to raise funds for our upcoming expedition V-Ex Overland”.
