The Dedham Vale Detectorists are a small but enthusiastic metal detecting club located in Boxted, in the Dedham Vale Area, just north of Colchester. Early in 2017 Mac MacIntosh approached VIA with an idea to raise funds from the digs they did around the country and to invite any veterans who may be interested in getting involved. A meeting was set up with the team from The Dedham Vale Detectorists and since that first meeting they have been a great supporter of the charity.
The club have just deposited £705 into the VIA bank account bringing the total raised so far to £1655 this year.
VIA Chief Operations Officer said:

The club are always on the lookout for new land that they can use and if anyone would like to help with this then please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Mac from The Dedham Vale Detectorists said:
We pride selves on finding historical artefacts on permissioned land, then investigate to discover the true history of what once was.
We, as a club, detect various farms, which has given both the club and the land owners, the opportunity to raise and donate much needed funds for the VIA, by a small charge to club members and Friends of Dedham Vale Detectorists, to detect on the land that we source.
If you wish to come along, We hold a monthly meeting 7:30pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month at:
